Yeah, the Big Butt-Ugly Bill has lots of opponents now. The increase to the deficit, the little "gotcha" clauses that do not belong in a budget bill, and this AI thing is one of those. I'm thankful for our democracy where it's normally a no-pass filter for bad ideas. Normally, if anything doesn't appeal to most of us, it can't become law or be enforced due to our "checks and balances" in our system. Now, the wheels seem to be off the bus and there is great danger in that.
I hear you. I think it’s a tool that can be used for good or evil. We have to rely on those people/sources that are true. Identity those sources and hang on to them.
You're too nice, too generous and too ... apologetic? I don't know if "apologetic" is the right word. These bastards know exactly what AI is, its pitfalls, and its potential for good or harm. I studied to get a master's degree in database design and maintenance. I dropped out of the program when I realized just how harmful databases would be; how utterly devoid of ethics, any semblance of compassion that companies controlling other people's information would become. That was almost 15 years ago. Now they're upping the ante. Sometimes I hate being right!
I’m a little tongue in cheek rather than apologetic I think. You are right, handing soulless machines the power to regulate our lives is very bad. Especially when the people in charge are soulless as well. Thanks for the comment!

Yea, the wheels on the bus don’t go round and round anymore.
I’m scared to death about AI…

Thank you Greg…I was afraid I was being a wuss! I agree…but I think I fear it will be used for evil.
I get it. I’m sure it can be. At this point I’m not sure we can do much more than keep shining a light on it.
🤞🏼
